Her Store, Her Story – Meet Ayanda, owner of Cream Style Salon at Hillcrest Corner

“I bought the salon from the previous owners in December 2023 and started operating it on 1 January 2024 – with no beauty or salon experience, just a leap of faith and a strong will to succeed. I must admit, it was scary when I started because I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do it… but 19 months later, I’m still going strong. There have been a few challenges along the way, but I’ve overcome them, and buying this salon has been the best decision I’ve made in my life so far.

What I love most about my store is that I get to provide a service that allows me to interact with customers. I come from a hospitality background, so customer service is my middle name.

I love engaging with different individuals and having meaningful conversations with my clients. I believe there’s always something to learn from someone – whether we’re chatting about how their day is going, receiving feedback or new ideas for the business, or simply sharing in the joy and satisfaction they feel after their transformation.

The smile of satisfaction on my clients’ faces shows me that my team and I are doing something right. Our clients are what keep this business going, so their happiness will always be our top priority.
